Texas oilman T. Boone Pickens boasted that he would give $1 million to anyone who can disprove “even a single charge” leveled by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, who he funded to the tune of $3 milion. Kerry offered to meet with Pickens and do so, with the million dollars going to veterans’ charities. Now Pickens seems to be backpedaling.

Offering a huge sum of money for anyone who can disprove right-wing lies, is the current fad they use to reinforce their lies as truth.
They never really intend to fork over the cash, only put the thought into the minds of other that "If they are willing to fork over that kind of money, it must be true, and if no one stands up to claim the prize, well then it must be true."
They know that the people who support their lies, because it matches their beliefs, will always remember the lie, but will soon forget that they never coughed up the money they promised.

example: the people who offer a hundred thousand dollars for anyone who can scientifically prove this concept or that, knowing it would take a well stocked lab, many man hours, and a lot larger budget than the prize to prove it, so no one is going to take them up on the offer.
I'm just surprised that he didn't attach an application fee to the contest and make a disclaimer that whether or not the evidence proves what he was asking, is actually acceptible, meaning that he'll do like any other right-winger, and just say it was a non-answer.

Kerry needs to follow up by refuting the charges publicly. As he did in the campaign, only to be ignored.

Then call on Pickens to put up or shut up. Odd that the "Liberal Media" won't give him an hour or so to do that.

He didn't backpedal at all. He referred to the charges that were on the ads during the campaign and he repeated that time and again on Hannity & Colmes. Go to each and every ad and prove just ONE of the charges were false.

Do you think you could link to an actual news story instead of some idiotic blog to prove a point. Why don't you start with the facts. It is funny that the author of that stupid baseless blog would call Pickens names for not serving in the military, doing the same as every other left wing MoveOn.Idiot worshiper. These same type of people that would not hesitate to fall to there knees to pleasure the draft dodging coward Bill Clinton.

When will you get it through your heads that Kerry is a flip flooping liar, that does the same thing as every other left wing looney does, tell what ever story he needs to maintain and gain power depending on who he is talking to at the time.............."I voted for the war, before I voted against the war."........."There is no doubt in my mind that Saddam has WMD's and is willing to use them..................there is no evidence that Saddam ever had WMD's."

The truth has never gotten in the way of John Kerry. He will say anything if he thinks the audience wants to hear it. Much like Al Gore and the Clinton Clan. Kerry would have gone there with more false information and half-truths than Bill Clinton at the Paula Jones trial.

Well, Pickens is a cowardly BS artist, as well as a greedy SOB.

Kerry is a proven liar, a disgrace to servicemen everywhere. I wouldn't meet with him, either.
