20 years old should be the drinking age?

You are no longer a teen.
You already have the right to vote and buy cigarrettes.

Why have that extra year after you are no longer a teen? It should be something you gain after you are out of those years.
Teens and small children shouldnt be able to drink, but adults(over 20) should be able to.

BTW Im only 18 so its not like this would benefit anytime soon if it were like this.

Im sorry to hear that but taking drinking out of public places isn't going to stop drinking and driving.

I don't like alcohol one bit, but I do think its silly that you can go into the military at 17, but you can't gamble, drink or smoke. Not that I want to, but it is a little silly.

The majority of young people are not responsible while drinking so I don't think the drinking age should be lowered at all. There is already an overwhelming amount of people who drink and drive on a regular basis so why lower the age and have even more people do so?

Remember, the drinking age was once 18 years old but was then changed to 21 for obvious reasons.

Sorry to here that about your daughter.
But I must say, as an 18 yr old, I believe that if you can be charged and arrested as an ADULT(starting at the age of 16), or can be drafted into the service at 18, and vote at the age of 18, and become and "adult" at the age of 18, that you should be treated as one. Although a lot of children are immature and don't need alcohol to keep up with there behavior, as a responsible 18 yr old who by the way, has never sipped a sip of alcohol, i believe the drinking age lowered to 20 would be legit.

I think that drinking should be stopped in all public places. It would cut down on the amount of drinking and driving that almost killed my daughter 2 years ago.
