Whenever I do online searches for dog friendly beaches in Florida, I do not seem to get anywhere. Does anyone know of any dog friendly beaches within 1-2 hours of Northeast Orlando? Thanks

The best place is Smyrna Dunes Park in New Smyrna Beach. All dog beaches require your pets to be on a leash though. Also for a local dog park in Winter Park try Fleets People Park, it does have a beach on a lake and is free and the dogs roam free.

Fleet Peeples park in Winter Park is awesome for dogs to run free off leash. The closest beach is New Smyrna and sometimes you can get away off leash. If worse comes to worst, just leave the leash on your dog and let them run free. If you can drive just a little further, on the other side past Tampa is an off leash dog park. It's called Fort De Soto Paw Park. It's a small beach, but dogs are free to roam if you can go the extra miles.

I do not know of any free-run dog beaches. But right there in Winter Park you have Fleet Peeples park - which is a free-run park for dogs with a lake, It is at the south end of Lakemont Ave just as you enter Orlando's Baldwin Park neighborhood.

Whatever you do, don't go to Cocoa Beach. We just went there and it was filthy dirty. Plus, they are having red tide, which means it is hard to breathe. I almost passed out and I was sneezing, coughing, and felt like I was going to die. There was something on the news about the state taking water samples because it is SO bad.

Take him over to Cocoa Beach. They won't notice.
