I have been trying to change it to some thing for Christmas. I guess I forgot how to do it, I don't know. But it keeps telling me that I have to down load the Macromedia Flash Player (MFP). I do that and it does down load successfully, but still tells me to down load MFP every time. So please how do I change my avatar?

I have tried the first answer that I got and that didn't help me out.
luvspbr2, that is what I have been trying to do. I go to my profile, then edit my info, then edit my yahoo avatar. As soon as I click on that, that is when I see it come up that I have to have Macromedia Flash Player (MFP). I down load that and then try it again. It is this way every time. It even says that it is successfully installed as well. So now what do I do? HELP, lol I think I might be stuck with this avatar, don't like that either.
I am going to bed for now as I have to get up early in the morning and go to work. I will check tomorrow after noon and see if we can all get this problem fixed. Thanks for the help so far.

We've just been into the Yahoo Avatar to see if we get the same message about the Macromedia Flash Player but we don't. We're really sorry, SapphireB, but the only thing we can suggest is that you go on to the Avatar page and as you make each change click "Save" each time. Have you tried making a completely new avatar from the beginning maybe that might work....but remember to click "Save changes" after every little bit that you do. If that fails too you could (if you have a scanner in with your printer) draw a picture of you and scan it into your computer and upload that for your avatar or if you have any photos that are Christmassy you could scan that etc., We can't remember if we had the MFP initially when we first sorted out our first avatar or not but we don't have to now. Sorry. Hope you get it sorted out soon, xxx

I have used the Yahoo avatars, and I know it will take a couple of days or even a week before it actually shows up on the screen. So have patience and wait to see what happens. Also sometimes it will show up then go away again. then come back for good. Some times you just show up with a blank and an X. Patience is the key.

I use the avatars on Yahoo, I haven't used the MFP.
If you want to use these, here's how to make changes:
1) Click on your profile
2) Click on 'Edit My Info' (in the center in blue)
3) Click on 'Edit My Yahoo! Avatar' (on the right)
4) Make the changes you want and be sure to 'Save changes'
Note: For holiday items go to:
'Extra', then 'Holiday & Events' and then 'Christmas'.
Then 'save changes'.
Edit: Sorry, I've never had to download MFP for mine when I change it, so I'm not sure what else you need to do.

I have never gotten the notice you do about Flash Player...I edited my avatar today - adding some holiday extras to my apparel and had not a problem. I clicked on edit my profile, then my avatar and then chose what I wanted..THEN you must choose SAVE CHANGES. The viola!

Luvs answer is correct. I've changed mine a few times and have never needed to download MFP. If you are trying to make changes to your 360 that might be different. I don't have a 360. Good luck and don't forget to save the changes!

Sapphire, are you sure that the last time "someone" worked on your computer, they didn't take some VERY NECESSARY running software OUT?!
This has never happened to me, NOR SHOULD IT! And since you have already loaded the Flash Player, and it is still not working, I have no idea what you can do to resolve it! Sorry.

Luvs has the right instructions.. Hope you can get it the way you want it. After I save my changes I close all my pages that involve answers and avatars and re-open the pages to let the new avatar reload. Don't know if that is necessary but that is just how I do it.

Anytime I have a repeat message like that, I reboot. I was taught "if all else fails, reboot" (or unplug).
It's possible the machine needed to be restarted for the download to take effect.
This is a guess from someone who's NOT computer literate.

Oh no again. I know people by their avatars. It's going to take me awhile to get used to everyone changing. I see so many changes. I'm forced to read names.
Seriously, all is good. Christmas spirit is fun and exciting. Carry on.
