This is an interesting subject, if only for the opinions of people and where they are from. My fiancée is American and is pro Israel with American news mainly coming down on Israel’s side. I am British and tend to be more pro Palestinian with most of the news concentrating on Israel’s atrocities.

Israel need to make peace because America says it has to. Israel gets away with a lot of human rights crimes and have been heavily condemned by the UN. Israel continue to ignore any complaints due to it's partnership with the USA.

Israel’s barrier wall, called apartheid wall by some groups (including Red Cross, Amnesty international, etc) has been built on land confiscated from Palestinians. This has already been condemned by the UN and even Israel’s Supreme Court has ruled against it. The Israeli barrier wall is built in the green line area of Palestine, where the food is grown, and everything was bulldozed that was in the way, including villages. Israel already controls fresh water, fuel, medical supplies, etc in the Palestinian controlled areas and these are very quickly cut when ever there is a disagreement between the two sides.

Edit ---

smsmith5 - But the killing of unarmed Palestinians continues. The bulldozing of the houses continues. Israel is not innocent in the problem and has appalling human rights records.

I don't agree with suicide bombing but I can understand why the Palestinians do it. There children are shot for playing in the wrong area, carrying no weapons and some even whilst trying to run away. They are given such poor supply that the hospitals can't treat most people and petrol is rare. Houses are bulldozed by the Israelis as revenge for almost anything, including voicing anti Jews opinion. They are treated as second class citizens, imagine how the Jews were treated before being sent to concentration camps and that's very similar to how the Israelis treat the Palestinians.

You've got it backwards, kid! Israel just recently handed over the whole of Gaza back to the palestinians, and look where it got them, a safe haven of terrorism courtesy of HAMAS, who plans on using their new found freedom, not to make peace and prosperity for their own people, but as a new opportunity to kill people who aren't like them.

Palestinians are racist xenophobes, and everytime Israel gives them a break, they prove that point over and over again. Israeli politicians and military leaders have shown a considerably greater amount of military restraint than I would have in their position.

Hmmm.... that's very interesting. You must have missed the part where Israeli soldiers dragged settlers off of the West Bank in the hopes that they could trade land for peace. Unfortunately, no one passed the message to HAMAS so they continue to attack. If Israel were any of her neighbors, the Palestinians would have ceased to exist 40 years ago. Do you remember who attacked the Palestinian refugees in "Black September"? It was King Hussein's Bedouin forces, not the Israelis.

If Israel's goal was to kill Palestinians and take their land, Israel would be a lot bigger and there wouldn't be any Palestinians left. They have a professional military and have been more civil to their enemies than their enemies have been to them.

To the person who doesn't like the "wall" the israelis built, funny how suicide bombings, (something that was a daily happening in Israel before) have fallen off to none. Sounds like the Israelis have the right idea.
