Who the hell cares about the Iraqis dying?

What would you think if, back before this battle, say back during the Clinton era; that President Clinton had sent some covert operator over to Iraq to place a bomb in Saddam's mailbox?

Well guess what?
Saddam did that to our President back in the mid 90's.
You didn't know that did you? I'll bet you didn't.

The list of reasons for the removal of Saddam is long and it's out there for anyone who wants to research it.

Well, if it were up to me, the American puppet, Saddam(after all, the U.S. installed him and supported him for the majority of his regime, even going as far as to send him the nerve agents that he used against the Kurds and others) would be removed in the traditional "American style:" the U.S. would broker a deal that would get him safely out of the country and into a plush retirement in our country or some other country known to harbor mass murderers(think of all the old Nazis in the U.S.).

Ultimately, the question is moot. The real question is how many more Americans have to die before Americans will admit that we should mind our own business and try fixing our own infrastructure before we insist on telling other people how to fix theirs?

The fact is, Saddam was a mad man. He and Osama share strikingly similar characteristics. Saddam killed men, women, and children. Lots of them. He was a ruthless dictator, who did not care for the rights of his people nor give them the respect that they were human too. Saddam also did not like us very much. Hence, the experimenting with weapons of mass destruction. Now what you are asking is to have let Saddam stay in power. Stay in power so he can do what exactly?! Slaughter more men, women, and children. Impose more ludicrous laws? Finally complete his little weapons project so that he could not only kill off any of his people he didn't like, but now he can also start killing us too. Yeah that sounds like a spectacular idea.

Saddam was dumb. They killed him.
We caught him, handed him over back to the Iraqis, they tried him in their own court and convicted him. They wanted him dead.
If anybody needs to admit Saddam should have stayed in power, it should be those Iraqis that killed that are all crying for him to be back now.

Hmmm... Saddam Hussein was "so damn insane", and his track record speaks for itself. I feel that he got what he deserved.

how about you ask the Kurds and Shia how they liked Saddam in power. The Sunni's were the minority and he was afraid of rebellion so he killed the opposition. Even though Iraq was more "stable" with him in, it was by oppression and murder not freedom.

I see all the answers about how bad Saddam was... He was an evil man no doubt about it. Some how we forget who put him in power in the 1st place!!! How effective the no fly zones were at keeping him in check.

Seriously, I don't care if they all die. I care about Americans living, because I'm an American. You would have thought that we could have dealt with him, but he just didn't understand. We said NO wmd's, and he wouldn't let the UN inspectors in. We warned him how many times? Well, if we don't take him out, then our warnings mean nothing, so we had no choice. We're not a difficult country to get along with, and if Saddam couldn't get with it, well he swings. Personally I wouldn't mind if everyone from the middle east wound up swinging, I'm an American, and I care about Americans.
