i have an 85 rx7 with a 12a motor in it, and i would like to convert to an 88 rx7 engine with a 13b fuel injection turbo.

The actual motor itself will swap right in. I would still take some 2nd gen mounts in case. Dont forget the 1st gen 7 did have a fuel injected 13b for 2 years in the 1984-1985 GSL-SE model, so it will fit fine. PLent of guys over on rx7club have done the swap and could give complete step by step detail of how to go through it. Dont forget to get the tranny and rear end from the Turbo II car. They will hold up to the power much better most likely.

I think you will have to make your own motor mounts. It should be relatively easy since the engines are the same width with the 13B just a little bit longer. The 13B Turbo was a tight fit even in the 88 Rx7. If you go with that set up you will have to switch a bunch of stuff including the ECU and various sensors and the wiring harness. This will be a BIG project.
