I've been under some very big stress lately. It's taking a huge toll on me and I was hiding it very well but I guess im really transparent. They are getting so worried that they are going to councilors and therapists. I tell them i am dealing with it and that I just need time but its not working and i dont need a therapist or anything like that i just need time but i also can't tell them whats going on...family says so. I've said i can't tell you but my family and i are working it out but they keep pushing it what do i do? they need to stop, i know they care but theres nothing they could do anyway.

Hello. As long as you or any family member are not in any danger then they should respect your wishes and let you have time to sort your family problems out. But, understand first of all they have no idea what is going on within your family so out of concern for you millions of ideas could be going through their minds. You need to assure them that there is no danger to anyone, simply a private matter between you and your family but you love them for being concerned. Sharing a little info like that should help them keep their distance from the matter. But, keeping a friend dangling without a clue sets the stage for them to draw their own conclusions which is why they involved the couselors and therapists. Best of luck to you and your family.

They want to be there for you like friends are suppose to be. Can't really advise without more details. Your age would be one thing. Don't you have at least one of them that you could trust with it? Talking about it would help you. Why does your family say that you cannot talk about it? Can't you trust your friends? How would your family know that you talked to them? Since you will not tell and they know something is wrong they are probably thinking the worst. They are worried about you and they feel helpless to help you.

Well since it's hard to know what your problem is, just tell them the same as us. Say "I have a problem with my family, don't worry I'm working it out."

You need to tell them they are making it worse by keeping asking you...Tell them if and when you feel the need to talk about it, they will be the first to know...
