I would have a hard time confessing to something I didn't do for any reason. To free a loved one, it would depend on the crime and eventual punishment.

A lie on-top of a crime? Where does all this end? Or do we just forget all our values ?
No -I wouldn't. But I would trade my life in his place for a love one if that is possible

Depends if my loved one was wrongly accused or actually did the crime. If either of my daughters were wrongfully accused I would, but if they did it, I would not want to be an enabler. That is not helpful to anyone.

Sure, maybe. If I knew I was dying(cancer...etc), I just might so long as I knew my son or whoever was/is innocent.

If they were guilty, then no. Never. They made their bed, and although I'd probably be sad, now they can lie in it.
