I'm back with another laptop. I went on the website and put together my own machine and this is what i got:

Operating system Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic (32-bit)

Processor AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-60 (2.0 GHz, 512KB+512KB L2 Cache )

Display 15.4" WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)

Memory 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)

Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M

Personalization Imprint Finish (Trace) + Microphone + QuickPlay

Networking Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n

120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive

SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support from DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive

TV & Entertainment Experience No TV Tuner w/remote control

All of this is $854 with a one year accident insurance. Also, i know nothing about the machine so if someone could give me overview on that also.

Take a hard look at the HP dv6500z it has a dedicated video card option with hdmi which will add a lot of performance to this unit. The v6500 does not have a dedicated card option at all.

Check Circuit City and Best Buy, I think they had some really good prices on the hp. Also check http://pricewatch.com and just key in the model. you may find a bargan or two out there.
Seems HP has a sale on the "pre-built ones" they are close to your specs

PS. having been on the service side for years and years, unless you are really careless with your machine, accident insurance and extended service are profit makers for the seller so you gotta ask -- is it worth it? Most cases it isn't!

Now back to my reseller hat PLEASE BUY ONE cause the company and I make a lot of money (more than the profit on the machine) if I can sell you one! (I do know what of I speak on this subject!)

if you can afford it get a bigger hard drive. and a faster processor. i also recommend getting accident insurance for multiple years. it comes in handy and will replace it if they cant fix it.
