The key here is to play very cool songs, but also songs that will build a crowd, make people happy, and especially make people want to give you money. Music that people wouldn't expect to hear is far more effective in getting money than music that is expected to hear on guitar.

Try to learn any 70s funk or 60s motown. Parlament, Earth-Wind & Fire, James Brown, anything with soul that you can bust out will attract everyone, and they'll love hearing it. These are the money tunes!

Also, songs that simply make people feel good:
Brown Eye Girl
Monkees - Believer
Any Beatles
Three Dog Night - Joy to the World
Aerosmith - Walk this Way
ACDC - You Shook me all night long

I know it's all old schoo, but outside on the street, business people passin by... these are the money tunes that'll get people stoppin and dancing.

I personaly take songs eveyone knows and twist them to suot my voice. It helpa if you have an acoustic guitar. But if you dont play, look up covers and learn from them. You can them usually get a backing track for the over, ask the youtuber personally or sing it accapella. Go for songs and artist lots of people cover because those songs are normally catchy andffeel good to sing. Most people will know those. I like to also look at xfactor and the voice clips for song ideas as they normally use well known songs that are good to sing and they adapt them well.
