Is she lying about pregnancy?

My brothers girlfriend told him she was 3 weeks prego, but refuse to take a pregnancy test (the one you pist on). At 1st she had so many excuses why she could not make it to pee on the stick, but now she is saying it will only show up in her blood. I asked myself how far along she was, and she said 2 to 3 weeks; is that possible for someone to know in such a short term? Than I asked her when was her due date to see if it matches her being 2 to 3 weeks. She told me that when the doctor took her blood at the clinic they did not ive her a due date, but I been pregnant twice and they always told me what do yall think? Is she prego or is she a liar liar pants on fire?

plus they had sex 2 weeks ago and she just told him!

She is LYING . Plain and simple. Impossible to know really if your 2-3 weeks pregnant because you are 4 weeks when you miss a period! And really you are not pregnant for the first 2 weeks ( counting from LMP) because those are the 2 before you ovulate. And you will always get a due date ( or estimate ) from a dr.

I'm not sure. I can see it either way. Normally a woman ovulates about 2 weeks before her period is due. If she has sex on the day of ovulation or a couple days before, the egg can be fertilized. Then it takes about a week (give or take) for the embryo to implant in the uterus. After implantation, the embryo begins to pump out hormones that can result in a positive pregnancy test. So by the time a woman misses her period, there is usually enough HCG to detect on a home pregnancy test. However, this is not always the case.

Suppose the girlfriend missed her period 2 weeks after having sex. She took a home pregnancy test, but it was negative. The next day when her period still didn't come, she went to the doctor. They did a blood test. It came back positive. However, because the blood test had to go to the lab before they knew she was pregnant and because her urine test was negative, the doctor was working on the assumption that she was not pregnant on the day that they drew her blood, and thought that she was just overreacting to a late period and they were just doing this test for her peace of mind. Since they didn't think she was pregnant, they didn't sit down and calculate a due date. Later, the girlfriend contacted the clinic and got her results. Perhaps she was confused and thought that her urine test would never be positive because it wasn't the first time or something like that. Or maybe she knows that it'll probably be positive eventually, but she is afraid of being called a liar if it turns out negative right now.

On the other hand, if your brother has a bad feeling about this and thinks that she might make it up in order to get him to stay with her/marry her/give her money/show that he really cares, well then, it might be a good idea for him to ask to go to her next pregnancy-related doctor visit with her. Besides, a lot of couples go together even if nobody is suspicious about anything.

You can get an accurate result from a blood test 5 to 7 days after the fertilization; however, home pregnancy tests show an accurate result as early as 3 to 5 days before the missed period.
Also, the majority of doctors tell you the due date when you have your first prenatal visit.
If she will not show her own boyfriend a positive test or the results from the doctors then she is probably lying.
Make sure your brother does not give her anything she asks for (money, marriage, etc) because she is probably using pregnancy as an excuse.
One thing for your brother to do is ask his girlfriend if he can go with her to her next doctor's visit for the ultrasound. The truth will come out soon.

She is *probably* lying, otherwise why would she refuse to take a test or show your brother some kind of paperwork from the doctor (you know how they load you down on your first appointment!)?

However, some people know they are pregnant instinctively before being told by a doctor or having a positive HPT. I knew I was pregnant both times pretty much the second my husband and I were "done". It was just a feeling...but I was right!

In the end though, your brother shouldn't take her word for it. I would say that he should offer to go to her next doctor's appointment with her. If there is never another doctors appointment, it'll be pretty obvious that she isn't pregnant.

2 weeks is 0 days. You count from ovualtion which is 2 weeks before sex. At completion of week 2 is when conception happens. Pregnancy tests won't show up before a little after 3 weeks and that is pretty early too. For most women it's 4 weeks (your missed period). She is most likely lying or confused about the time. She may be counting from conception whicch in that case it would make her 4-5 weeks.

Even at the clinic, the only way that I know of to tell if you are pregnant is the pee test. So...I would assume she is lying. And I would have your brother think twice about staying involved with this girl if this is the kind of person she is. Perhaps she is just putting off the test, until she DOES get pregnant.

Generally, pregnancy is considered from the date of your last period but fertilization can happen several weeks past that time so it is very hard to determine in the first couple of weeks if someone is pregnant. The store bought brands are not very accurate within the first month. If they had sex 3 weeks ago and she is 3 weeks pregnant chances are it is someone else's baby.

i think she is probaly lying, if that were the case then how come she can't tell the due date. i have 3 kids and anytime i had to see the doctor there is a chart that they go by from the u concieved and last menstral. if she is 2-3 weeks then the doctor should be able to hear a baby's heartbeat. trust me i know.

I don't think she is lying about being pregnant, but if they just had sex 2 weeks ago for the first time, most likely it isn't his and he needs to go to the ultra sound appointment with her when they do the dating scan.

I doubt she is pregnant and before she goes asking your brother for money I would tell him to make sure he knows she is pregnant first. I had a friend get talked out of money for a so called abortion when the chick wasn't even pregnant.
