When counting the “28” days between periods, does the counting start from the first day after the period stops? Or from the first day of the bleeding starts?

From the first day after my period has stopped until the first day my period starts it’s usually about 35-39 days. Could there be something wrong with me? Or is there something I can do to make my period come every 28 days?

[if it matters I’m almost 17 and got my first when I was about12]

nothing is wrong with you if you have your period between 35-39 days. I am irregular and have nothing wrong with me. Each girl is different. Talk to your gynecologist(spelling?) if you are worried.

I believe the counting starts on the first day of your period.

Birth control pills have helped regulate my periods.

And no, you don't have to be sexually active to go on the pill.

Plus, they make mine lighter & shorter which is GREAT!!

28 days is only an average there nothing written in stone that says you can't have a different cycle. all that matters is what is normal for you.
