So, last year the SEC West champion Arkansas is crushed 50-14 by the Pac 10's USC. If that weren't enough, this year the SEC East champion Tennessee gets spanked by the Pac 10's SEVENTH PLACE TEAM Cal. If the SEC is so much better than the Pac 10 and any other league, how can this be?

Gotta respond to some of this dreck.

Edward K - a mid major??? The Pac 10's record in BCS games is 7-4, second only to the SEC at 9-4. Sorry, but mid majors don't post that kind of record in major bowl games. Does this mean every league besides the SEC is a mid major? SEC snobs seem to think so and that's my point. If the SEC was, truly, a vastly superior league they wouldn't put up division champs like Ark. and Tenn. which would be middle of the road in the Pac 10. And that's what those games proved.

229time - Yes USC was supposed to beat Arkansas, but Arkansas was an SEC champion to be and they lost by 5TD's! Shouldn't a division champ from the big bad SEC be able to up some kind of fight? Cal and Tenn. played each other at the same point in the season when they were both healthy (injuries began to derail Cal later) and they beat them handily. Had Tenn. been in the Pac 10 this year they wouldn't have finished higher than 4th. Best answer tomorrow. Reply if you want.

I agree. The SEC is the most competitive conference but the Pac 10 is close behind. The PAC is very competitive despite all of the haters out there saying it's not. The Trojans could beat any team that the Big 10 offers at the Rose Bowl. I hope it's Ohio St. USC 32 Michigan 14.

because these were the first games of the year, it takes alot of teams awhile to get going...thats why if we had a playoff system, the team that was hot at the moment would have the advantage....#6 USC smoked Arkansas which they were supposed to win, they were a better team

-California beat Tennessee...Which Tennessee was cold at the beginning of the season, and California was hot...big deal, rember that Tennessee crushed them the year before?

-Those were only two games, you do not think an SEC fan could turn around and give you scores of several other games?

-EVERY CONFERENCE has good teams, but the SEC is just deeper, Other conferences may have 1,2, or possibly 3 teams that could win championship each year, while the SEC has atleast 4 contenders most every year!

-Just in recent years, Florida,LSU has won title and Auburn went undefeated and some how didnt get a chance?, and UGA has finished 3rd in regular season, and if WestVirginia, and Missouri lose, they will be playing this year...Also Bama, and Tennessee won a title in the 90's

-ANY TEAM from any conference, can beat another team, It is just that SEC is deeper

Well I do love USC but I live in GA and the SEC fans do have good a lot to backup their arguement. They have LSU, FLA and UGA. The PAC-10 only has USC until Oregon and Ariz St this year. Oregon, LSU, FLA, UGA, USC would all give each other good game with the way each is playing right now.
The SEC is the most competitive conference in the country w/o a doubt. It's bs that ppl keep criticizing LSU for their loses and it's because they don't watch the SEC enough. No games are ever a guaranteed win.

The Pacific Ten is a great conference...in basketball. On the gridiron, it's a mid-major. Of the BCS conferences, only the depleted Big East is worse. Did anybody truly believe that Berkely had a top 5 program?

we have a lot of teams that are very good, and we are very competitive. unlike other conferences with 1, 2, or even 3 great teams... the sec has many.
