No dear, there's no way to rush when the puberty fairy delivers that particular present. It happens when it happens. If you are that concerned, just start wearing a panty liner. When your first period shows up, it will start very slowly. Blood isn't just going to come pouring out of you, and mostly it just makes a mess of your underwear. You may well start at school, most girls do because we go to school much of the time. There's no reason to be embarassed about it, nor to make an issue of it. Most pads come in wrappers now days, and it's easy to carry one in a purse or backpack that you carry with you. I used to carry my spares in a pencil case, like those that clip into a notebook, and I got those for my daughters to carry as well. That way, it can't fall out in front of everyone, and since you carry things with you nobody thinks much about it one way or the other. If you like, you can even slip in a pair of undies in with the pad- so you can change up to fresh undies and simply put the other pair back in the case. Out of sight, and no way to embarass you should you drop things. Once home again, easy to remove and get washed up. If you really get caught out, again, no problem. Any female teacher, the school nurse, the secretary, can all help you out with it. It happens plenty and they aren't going to get upset with you. But talk to your mom. Get some panty liners or pads, and the pencil case for cammoflauge, and relax. When it happens, it happens, and you will be prepared. Then of course, you will wonder what you got so worried about. And you will also have some emergency supplies to help a friend out, if it comes to that.

Yes you are in that age group to start a period. Tell your mother your concerns about starting your period at school and no you cannot speed up your period. The best thing to do is to carry a pad in your purse just in case you get started at school.

Most of the time when you start it is not going to be a flood more like spotting a little not a biggie just go to the bathroom and put your pad on and you should be fine. Try not to worry about this think what has worry ever got you? good luck

You can't speed your period up, if you're very athletic that will delay your period, any excessive weight gain and loss will also do it; some people don't get their period until upwards of 17-18 it just depends on your body. But that doesn't mean quitting your favorite sport, etc. The best thing you can do is be prepared, carry pads or tampons in your backack, maybe an extra set of pants in your gym locker, make a bathroom trip on your breaks. It can be stressful the first couple of times just don't let it get the best of you, which I know is easier said then done. But you can't run from it, just embrace it and be prepared!

Well you are the first person i know who actually wants to get her period! Lol. I can understand how you are feeling though. As far as i know there is no way to actually speed up the process but make sure you are eating healthy, as an unhealthy diet and extreme dieting can cause many problems with girls. If you are really worried about it coming as a nasty surprise at school, you can get some small panty liners that you can wear for some extra protection. These are comfortable and unnoticeable but it definitely helps with your peace of mind. Good luck :)

Besides going on birth control, there's nothing else you can do but wait.

I got my period when I was 14. You can usually "feel" it coming but until you've had it several times, you might not recognize the symptoms.

Just be patient and don't wear white pants. And if you are worried about starting at school, I would keep an extra pair of pants in your locker just in case.

As we all know, we can start period on 9 years old and mine start when I am 11. to make sure you will not embarrassed when it happens in school, bring along a period towel, or in other name, pad as a preparation. if you noticed that it is coming out, rush to the toilet!

you just gotta wait....you could wear pantyliners though...that way if you start at school...it will give you a little extra time before it leaks through to your pants and you may be able to notice it before you have an accident...

Believe me, once you have it, you are going to wish it never came back. Just keep a pad in your bag, for just in case.
