pretend you are George Washington and you have to address the troops of the Continental Army to help them understand why it is important that they stay and do battle with the British. Write a speech that will persuade them to stay and fight for the cause.

I'm not going to write your essay for you, but here are some thoughts that you may want to think about when writing this:

The men that served under Washington were farmers and merchants. They didn't have much money and they were paid very poorly. They were ill-equiped and poorly trained yet faced the most powerful and professional military in the world. What would you say that get these men to fight? Why did they abandon their farms and family (think about what happens when a farmer gives up his farm for a short time, more or less months)?

How could Washington persuade them to stay and fight for this new country? How could Washington persuade them that their lives would be better by continuing the fight?

Sorry, there is no question here for me to answer.

Instead, you are telling me to PRETEND to be George Washington and WRITE your speech for you. The promise to choose my answer as the Best Answer is like a carrot on a stick - but I am neither a mule nor hungry.

p.s. Thanks for your thumbs down - it's better than your carrot.
