Super simple....at least I think.
If I want to change the spacing, how do I do that?
Also, the margins are a bit messed up, I'm typing a research paper and our professor only gave us the definition of 'standard' margins. What are standard margins and how do I change it to that?

It's version 2003, if that helps.
I'm not a very computer-ical person, as you may have noticed.

And I'm asking it here because nobody answered in software....I know, I need to give it time but I believe these are pretty simple questions.

I believe a standard margin is a 1in margin....if you look at the top of your paper you will see a ruler and you can move the triangle/hourglass looking thing to select the margin.

For the spacing I think that is under format...paragraph...then you find the box with line spacing, and change ti to what you need.

also...use the paper clip dude to ask questions...he's often helpful!

:D

To change the margins, you should see a ruler bar at the top of the form.

There are several little markers there. Move your mouse over the little square box under what looks like the hour glass on the ruler bar.

You will see the words hanging indent and left indent.

Click and drag the little boxes left to move the margin left.

At the other end of the ruler around 60 is the other margin.

Drag it where you want it as well.

Under format at the top select paragraph.

You will see many selections there. One to the lower right shows line spacing. Select what you like there.

Good luck.

Standard margins is 1 inch all around. That's in File / Page Setup.

Spacing is adjusted in Format / Paragraph, in 2 parts: above, and below. Usually you leave that alone, and just pick single, 1.5, or double.
