give lips some color, make them pop, stand out, moisture, and ultimately cuz we want to and if guys dont understand then well too bad

As gross as it sounds, there are a lot of correct answers here. The original purpose of lipstick was to cause a man to subconsciously think of sex. ("excited" = swollen and red). Now most women wear lipstick / gloss in dark colours to make their teeth appear whiter and light colours to enhance the size and shape of the lips.

Lipstick and lip gloss both bring focus to the most commom erogenous zone - the lips.
Making them appear larger, softer, or wetter makes women [ theoretically ] appear more desirable.
Also, wearing the right color brightens up the rest of the face!

Me and my bf share this account. i dont really wear lipstick but i think lipsticks is a feminine thing. Females wear lipsticks of many shades to emphazie their lips or to show character. Certain shades of lipstick pending on your makeup can create a dramitic, sensual, sassy, or natural look. Lipsticks are good for any occasions. its the way you want to show yourself.

She just wants to look pretty , every girl does. Lipsticks add colour , moisture . Gloss does almost the same thing , but it doesn't have the impact that a lipstick has. Perhaps at her time , gloss wasn't popular as it is now. Peviously they liked to match lipstick colour with clothing , used as blusher on cheeks , therefore the 5 million lipsticks. Just help her check that the lipsticks doesn't smell funky.(that means it's expired.)Help her throw it out & maybe it brings back fond memories for her.(eg first date). Let her keep the case if she wants to.

To highlight a woman's sexuality. Sorry to bring that to mind when you are talking about your Grandma! ... but the ancient Egyptians and many cultures before them used lip tints and dyes made from natural ingredients to enhance their femininity.

It's makup. Every culture in the world has probably decorated their faces with some sort of paint, or jewelry. It's part of human social culture.

When women age they lose pigment in their lips, so they often paint the lips with make up. One day you may be old like your Grandma, but you'll probably have tattooed lips. =0)

So when she kisses your cheek she can leave little kiss imprints all over your face and then not tell you and then you go to daycare and everybody laughs at you! (past experience)
just kidding- i have no idea. it makes them feel young- and pretty is my best guess. i hate lipstick; i like lipgloss & chapstick.
