Gas stoves are cheaper to use and give better turn down control of the burners so you can adjust the heat during cooking.

Unfortunately gas lines are notorious for blowing up houses and streets (happened in our town when gas company workers connected a high pressure feeder to a neighborhood of houses on low pressure).

It really depends on personal preference and what you are used to. Personally, I prefer gas. It hears up faster and delivers more heat to the pot or pan. I also feel that I get more even heating from gas as the flame spreads over the bottom of my pot or pan compared to an electric stove needing to have contact with the pan for optimal heat transfer.

I love my gas stove....1= cost less to run, 2= less parts to burn out and replace 3= instance heat (no warming up the elements) 4= I can use it when the power is out. 5= you have a choice of fuel source, propane or nat gas. Where I live I use propane and one 100lb tank lasts me a year. cost right now is $71 and we have a family of 3. I hope this helps you.
