Neil's so awesome!
I have his "Gold" double cd with songs
I've cherished since I'd first heard them
then, later, and a couple handfuls
I hadn't heard before.
As important to me as all those others that
I'm always listening to, writing (and talking)
about, like The Stones, The Zeppelin,
Hendrix, Clapton, Jeff Beck, Santana,
Muddy Waters, BB King, The Floyd,
Rod Stewart and 25 others.
That's right: As Important to me.

I don't really like Neil Diamond, but the song is okay.

Yes, it's a great song. I also like "Holly Holy", "Soolaimon", "Shiloh", and "Done too Soon". Neil is a great songwriter, on a par with Joni Mitchell, or Harry Nilsson.

A fine singer in his day and still can belt out some pretty good tunes, "Solitary Man" being just one of them. My favorite is "Hello" and it reminds me of someone who passed years ago who was a wonderful, wonderful friend. I also like "Sweet Caroline" and "I am I said"...So many good hits really.
Like your style and tastes of the 60's...music is everlasting and a great source of inspiration for us all in this life.

My favorite band did a cover of this song and I like it a lot more. I'm not going to name that band here because I'm in a fight with the singer.
