I get this a lot in the work place and school...and I am soo conservative in the way I dress, talk and act!! What can I do to stop this??!

Maybe you need to develop smart ways to react - like throw it right back at them - like if they give you leery looks - do the same thing to them - meet fire with fire and maybe if they get really suggestive you could look like you are thinking about it and then say Nah - you don't seem man enough for my tastes. I wouldn't act all annoyed and embarrassed. Play it like you are the one in charge not them and have a bit of a laugh like you think it is all just so funny and say things like "You must be joking??...Are you serious??? You and me??? Um sorry...me and my boyfriend are doing just fine thank you. Or "What is it that I am doing that is attracting you to me??? Get over me please I know I am gorgeous and I can't help if I am God's gift to man but honestly I am not interested.

Wow, I'm sorry you're being treated that way. It may be a part of culture, but I don't think it's only African American culture that's the problem.
In any case, you can't do much to change the culture itself. You definitely don't have to change the way you dress, talk and act. But you can address the people who are causing the problem, and tell them you deserve to be treated better. If they won't respond, or if you don't want to talk to them directly, you can take your complaints (use specific examples) to an authority like a teacher, principal or boss. Good luck...

You simply don't buy into it. Don't react to people because they get a rise out of it. Act like you didn't notice it and continue commanding the respect that you know you're entitled to.
Remember, don't make a face or acknowledge the ill treatment in any way. If someone addresses you using this tone, act like they just said your name.
