So the tv says don't miss the last 2 chapters.. WHAT IS THAT!? Are they getting canceled because the spin off did or something? I'm so lost! Anyone know what the deal is?

It's not cancelled. They're ending the season early due to the writer's strike.

Season 2 was always supposed to be two volumes. Volume 2 would be episodes 1-11, Volume 3 would be episodes 12-23. When the WGA called their strike, Episode 11 was finished and filming had begun on Episode 12. Because of the strike, they reshot Episode 11 as a season finale, just in case. Since then, because actors and Teamsters and many show runners have refused to cross the picket lines (Tim Kring, the creator of Heroes, and several cast members have joined the picket line), production on most shows has been shut down.

Talks are set to resume tomorrow. If the studios cave quickly and give in to the writers' demands, then production can begin again quickly and we'll get new episodes soon. If the studios insist on being greedy and stubborn and the strike has to go on, once they reach a certain point they won't be able to get production up and running again quickly. If the strike isn't settled by January or so then the season for all shows will be 10-12 episodes and everyone will pick up in the fall (assuming the strike is over).

But Heroes is in no danger of cancellation.
