Gee ... Does he catch the villain?

I hope that momentum is conserved and our hero just magically steps onto the speeding boat with no momentum.

m1v1= (m1+m2)v2
m1- mass of the boat
m2- mass of Batman
V1- initial speed of the boat
v2- final speed of the boat and Batman
then
m2= (m1v1 - m1v2)/v2= m1(v1-v2)/v2
m2=(500)( 20 - 17)/17=88 kg

Momentum = mv

m1v1 = m2v2

m1v1/v2 = m1

500kg(20m/s) / 17m/s = 588.235kg

So his mass is 88.235kg
