The currency is in decline, yes.

However, currency does not dictate power. If the US wants to continue to be the only superpower in the world, then it must take that seriously. This means that it must continue the leader at something.

The US will not hold onto economic dominance forever. A nation with 5% of the world's population - in comparison to China or India, it cannot hold on forever, unless the economic growth in both countries stops (even then, another contender will rise eventually).

Instead, technological dominance is the only viable option. The US must invest a significant portion (like >5%) of its ENTIRE GDP in scientific research, and development of new technologies. That way, it will maintain some measure of wealth and leadership.

I agree that the US needs better management. Wall Street has not learned from 1984, or any other stock crash. However, the biggest thing the US needs to understand is that it needs to get its priorities right.

The economy is ok, it may stumble but it wont fall flat. i mean California's GDP is larger than ALL but 7 countries in the world (see wikipedia). Our economy is 20% of the world economy. 20%!! that is huge. We are heading to (or already in) a recession. It happens and we will rebound, dont worry. By the way we haven't had a recession since 2000-2001 so it was time.
