See a repairman. Your computer may be overheating. or possibly a memory problem.

Something went wrong with your video driver. I dealt with this one over and over again when Microsoft put out an update a year and a half ago... and low and behold, it killed the video driver on billions of systems!! Way to go Microsoft.

What you need to do is boot your system into Safe Mode (usually F8 at start up), then go into the device manager and delete the Video driver.

Reboot your system and allow it to boot into Windows normally, it will load the default driver for your video from your OS. This means that you won't be able to change the settings and the display will look huge.

Now, simply install the drivers that originally came with your system. You should have received a CD for this... or you could go online and download it from the manufacturers website. Once it's installed, reboot again, and you should be in business.

Good Luck!!

Lost files? Depends on the problem. Probably not, unless you do something impatient.

Chances are you've corrupted a video driver or monitor inf file. At boot press and hold F8 (just as was suggested previously) to boot into safe mode. Right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager, drill down to your video card and delete it, delete your monitor, and then click on scan for new devices. It will reinstall the default drivers, and reboot. Then you can install new drivers. Then don't monkey with them.

well if it does that when ya start it you can rule out heat.....try changing the cable.....if that dont work try another monitor if ya got one.......so you can rule out that its a monitor problem.....ive seen this happen before and it turned out to be a memory(ram) problem......open up the case an try cleaning it with compressed air, this may sound goofy but try taking the ram out, clean out the slots, then clean the contacts on the ram with a pencil eraser.....put back in an fire it up.....this fixed a very similar problem your describing with my buddys pc about a month ago.....most likely it may not work...but ya never know........i just saw what juggler wrote, that may well be your problem too.....i would try that first......

in case you have twin pix enjoying cards then plug the cable from the computer screen it is already plugged into card one, into card 2 and spot what happens. It actually does sound like a hardware pix concern to me.
