interstate batterys sells a 8 volt battey to use in older tractors
that used 6volt systems tey worked fine
if they have enoulf amps (needs 300 amps at a minium ) you will be ok
your carging system will only charge them to 14volts not the 15.5 volts it usually chages at it wont hurt the alternator or any other part of the car as its normal for the alternator to put out 13.5 to 14.8 volts whlile running

14 Volt Battery

Never heard of a 14 volt battery, 6`s and 12`s are the norm, and 2 -12`s in series make a 24v. Gel cells are low amperage batteries, they are designed to maintain a constant voltage while they are being drained to power the standby power supplies. They do not have the capacity to handle the demands of a car starter. In other words they barely put out 200 amps, and the average car battery is at least 550 amps up to 1000. They also do not take a high amperage charge that comes from a cars alt. They prefer a slow 1.5-2.5 amp charge over a long period. They are deep cycle batteries not designed for automotive use and they weigh more than a comperable wet cell.

You can, but they will not charge properly. Your vehicles charging system is designed to run and operate with a 12 volt battery. In order to charge a battery you must apply more than its static voltage. Those 14 volt batts will just run down and fail to crank or will crank so slow in cold weather you won't start.

Yes you can, most generators charge your battery at 13 to 18 volts already! As high a 18 volts when your battery is really low and about 13 volts when you are driving down the road!

I've never heard of a 14 volt battery except those used with cordless drills>

You may get away with it, if the batteries have the amperage. I would suggest getting a regular 12V battery. That is what your car is rated for.
