Hiyya,
I guess I'm just asking for suggestions/help in losing weight and if my diet/exercise routine is good enough etcc. I'm a 19 years old woman, 5'4", 130lbs. I'm looking to lose at least 20lbs from now until January. I'm starting to run/jog/speed walk twice a day for 45-60minutes each time. I do 100 situps/crunches every day [50 in the morning and 50 before bed], 15 minutes worth of lunges, 15 minutes worth of squats, running up and down a flight of stairs 20 times and 30 minutes of pilates each day. I am very motivated to lose weight. I don't eat junk food, soda, just lots of water and 100% fruit juice. I stay away from white rice, pasta, white bread, fast food. Is this good or am I overdoing it? THANKS!

You wore me out just reading that. It's only to much if you start getting pain or dizziness. but you may be overdoing, Are you training for the Olympics? The twice a day runs are hard on your joints and hamstrings. watch out for any pain in your knees, ankles and hamstrings . That would signal over use.

The way to lose weight is to cut back on calories. You can exercise your @rse off and you will still be chubby, just chubby and stronger. Nobody believes me when I say this, even tho I am 6'3 and weigh about 145. You'd think they'd look at me and say, 'Perhaps he DOES have some idea of how to remain thin!' but instead they continue to run all over creation and whinge about still being chunky. A pound of fat comprises 3500 calories. You would have to basically run at top speed for seven or eight hours straight to burn anywhere near this much. BUT, if you eat less than you burn, you will lose a pound everytime you have eaten 3500 less calories than you burnt. For instance, if your body naturally burns 2000 calories per day just sitting there watching telly, and you don't eat a single thing, after three days you will have lost just under two pounds. Of course, you must eat to stay alive, so if you cut back to say, 1000 calories per day, and you still burn 2000 calories, then you'll lose a pound every few days. Exercising helps a bit by increasing your muscle mass, and muscles burn more calories than fat just by being there. But the way to lose a lot of weight is just to eat far less than you burn, full stop. That's it. No secret diets; no certain type of exercise, just eat less than you burn for a long, consistent period of time.

It sounds like you may need to change up your routine. You may need to do more (add on extra crutches etc.) or do other exercises, cause your body maybe getting use to the exercises and its neither helping you nor hurting you.
