Why we, the whole of the world did not agree when the US decided to go for the invasion! The UK and many other allies of US did thought opposite but where pressured to toe the US line! Even Japan, Australia, Italy, Spain did send the troops for helping in civil and voluntary health services only and did not participate in the combat!

The war is a historic blunder of US making the loss of USD 500 billions directly and USD 3 trillions indirectly ( worldwide loss to all the nations!) leave alone the death and destruction of US and allied forces plus the properties! Hardly a fraction of this amount if at all been spent in the right way, a change of leadership in Iraq to suit US policy and to save its interests would have been accomplished with the terrible saving of the war and the lives of victims including the half a million Iraqis killed plus a million died of hunger!

The US is actually not eliminating the terror from the world by this war, rather strengthening and enlarging their base and operations with deadly plans for executions worldwide! In the days to come when GW Bush is out and the new head in white house withdraws troops from Iraq, they get bold in attacks and hardly the government could survive! So it becomes essential for the US troops to stay for ever to protect the Iraqi government!

For Mr.Besiktas : just look here:

America does have vast, wealthy suburbs, huge shopping malls and a busy middle class, but it also has vast numbers of poor, struggling to make it in a low-wage economy with minimal government help.
A shocking 37 million Americans live in poverty. That is 12.7 per cent of the population - the highest percentage in the developed world. They are found from the hills of Kentucky to Detroit's streets, from the Deep South of Louisiana to the heartland of Oklahoma. Each year since 2001 their number has grown.

Under President George W Bush an extra 5.4 million have slipped below the poverty line. Yet they are not a story of the unemployed or the destitute. Most have jobs. Many have two. Amos Lumpkins has work and his children go to school. But the economy, stripped of worker benefits like healthcare, is having trouble providing good wages.

Even families with two working parents are often one slice of bad luck - a medical bill or factory closure - away from disaster. The minimum wage of $5.15 (£2.95) an hour has not risen since 1997 and, adjusted for inflation, is at its lowest since 1956. The gap between the haves and the have-nots looms wider than ever. Faced with rising poverty rates, Bush's trillion-dollar federal budget recently raised massive amounts of defence spending for the war in Iraq and slashed billions from welfare programmes.

What lifestyle has been assured for the 37 million poor of USA?

I think Saddam should have been removed from power back in 1991 when the UN intervened on behalf of Kuwait. That was the second time the man had invaded a neighbor, he was not the kind of man we wanted to have in power anywhere, much less a man we'd have wanted to take control of 90% of the world's oil. But the UN did not want to set that precedent and only liberated Kuwait. The current war was started for all the wrong reasons and needed a broader support base to justify it.

The only thing is that now that the US is there, they can't just pack up an leave. That would be even more irresponsible than invading in the first place. Unfortunately that likely means the US is in for the long haul. At this point there is no quick solution.

There are only 2 people still supporting this war and that would be George Bush and Dick Cheney.
