LMAO what did time outs ever do to punish kids? If you got a time out in school, that would rock because then you didn't have to pay attention to what the teacher was doing.
If you get caught in my house, you got a good spanking and a half. And man, that hurt. Spanking works, time outs don't.
To a naughty child, time out = extra time to plot the next mischievous event.

Time out? Are you crazy? I'm Russian...I got the ever loving sh*t beat out of me and then isolated from the entire family after being told how worthless and stupid I was.
Time out. Hahaha. What a wimpy way to punish children. No wonder why they are such little punks. Open up a can of whoopass!

no to be honest my mom and dad had it made w me and my sister...i really don't remember getting in trouble...we followed the rules...i'm sure we were verbally corrected but never put in "time out" but i'm 46 and i don't ever remember any one using that term when i was growing up. we didn't get spankings or grounded either.......we just did right. maybe that's why i had 5...thought they'd be like me and my sister...think again!!!

Nope. I got a sharp reprimand, and one time my mom threw my favorite stuffed animal out the window because i used it to hit my bro.
