i love fashion and i spend most of my time on it. but, it's really affecting my schoolwork. i don't know the great ways to memorize vocab words, or study for a big test. it makes me bored enough to go sew a purse or look at "seventeen" magazine. and usually its the same result with having my parents yell at me for not working harder! and it makes me feel really guilty. but i can't control it. all i want to do after school is sew or look in my closet. and that leads to staying up 'till midnight complaining about math homework. so please, anyone? i need some big help here. im in 7th grade also

Is there an after school program in your school? If so stay there and do your homework this way when you reach home you have free range to do what you want. if they don't have a program, try to get with a tutor or do your homework with a friend so you wont get distracted. I also would start checking out fashion high schools, so this way when you get there all the homework will be fashion!

If you don't do your work, it will be very hard to get into design school. If you're in 7th grade you're probably in pre-algebra, right? I'm very good at math so it's hard to give advice to anyone who doesn't naturally like it, but if anything doing your homework is good discipline. If you're planning on working in the fashion industry you'll either need to be irresistably hot, smart, or have a good work ethic. The last one is the most important, not just for getting a job but being able to put the best into what you love as well.

Think of math as a way to calculate measurements for garments you want to design. You will need to know/understand formulas for estimating yardage, trims, etc. Also you could do a research paper on how culture dictates fashion and vice versa, i.e. Islamic culture requires women to dress more modestly than western culture. You could also study how fashion has evolved through the ages and how it seems to repeat itself. In the 70's boot cut pants were called bell bottoms and low rise were hip huggers.... There is plenty to learn to broaden your understanding of fashion and incorporate it with what is being taught in the classroom.

If you want to make fashion a career, your studies are the most important right now. After you're out of jr. high, you can take fashion in high school if it is offered. But remember, you must make the grades if you want to continue to a fashion design school. What you do now, is going to affect what you do later in life.

OK make some time for your school work and then when you get done with your school work and everything Eal's for instant like,do your home work first and then do your fashion. or just make a schedule or a list of what you think you should do. or make out times when you have a chance for your fashion.

7th grade wow.

Well, you can take the non advanced courses, that will help.

If you have any free tiem during school, take advantage of it and do your homework. When you get home eat a snack, and then do the rest of your homework. Then you will have something to look forward to.

Maybe you can make a career out of it? Ask your parents to make the magazines your reward for studying, but also ask them to help you realize how to shape your studies to getting into college. Maybe you can pursue an arts degree?
