Some Buddhist monks are reported to be able to learn to through physical meditative training to be stretch their fingers longer . A less strenuous way would be illusion. With enough focus a person can cause others mind to see them as something they're not for a variable amount of time. Of course to develop this kind of focus usually takes quite a bit of meditative practice and if any have done it on a practical level they're not talking. Also there is the risk of temporarily accidently adopting some of the personality/traits of your projection.

That depends. Are you talking about science-fiction or real life?
Only in science fiction is "shape-shifting" possible. Each author can come up with his or her own explanation for how it was done in some other place at some other time.
It is an interesting Idea, isn't it? I suppose the closest you might come to it in real life is with post-hypnotic suggestion. If, while under hypnosis, a subject was told that when she saw a particular person, that person would be a man-eating lion in disguise, I expect that the subject, when she came too would run away . What do you think?

I don't know if that's possible. Probably not. But I do know that you can be "blinded". You can see a person and think it's somebody else. That happened to me over a period of time. Drives you nuts when you realize that you thought 3 or 4 people (who were disguising themselves as someone else)...were a certain person.(kind of like the multiple Santa Clauses) If you trust the person and don't "examine" them and they look almost the same..even have the same type car...you'll think it's them. I'm probably not making this too clear..sorry.

Some folklore mentions shape shifting.
Doing it by will or conscious effort probably is not good to practice. Many people will take on a persona and probably end up damaging their mental state.

Yes, I do it all the time. I do it by drinking two cups of liquid bleach, curling up in a ball and hum the words, "aia kala bomiay" 5 times and then I think about what I want to change into really really hard. It lasts for about 10 hours. Good luck.

Okay I do believe in magic, but it is not like Charmed or Bewitched. I do no think it possible to physically turn into something else. it would be nice if we could though. We have to face reality at sometime so may as well be now.

eat lots of bread and pasta, fast food and candy, don't do anything but watch tv and use your computer. if you're old enough, drink lots of alcohol while eating. your shape is guaranteed to shift!

we humans do not have this ability, but some creatures in the animal kingdom have ways to camaflague themselves.
There is also technology used to camaflague military ships.
