Because Al Qaida wants to kill americans for getting involved in middle eastern affairs since the 80's. Bin Laden wanted us to go into Iraq. Americans are much easier targets now.

Bin Laden hated Saddam and actually wanted to fight against Iraq when they invaded Kuwait.

How would you like it if someone invaded you country. The constitution was set to protect our country, only if invaded, not to invade other countries.
