unfortunately, unless radical candidates like Kucinich, Paul or Gravel are elected, that seems to be the only road out

Not an option. The powers that be would never let it occur without an all out counter. Remember the Civil War?No state in history has ever allowed itself to be destroyed. And that's with both sides having the same technology as far as weaponry.
Not an option #2. - Any attempt at a cultural, political etc.. type of "revolution" would be instantly taken by many as aiding enemies of the US , which may, in fact, be the case.
Lesser of how many evils?

Its called an election. If you want change stop electing the same people every time. Being in congress was not meant to be a lifetime job.

It's not the only way, nor is it really a viable way unless enough of the military realizes that a majority of the U.S. citizens are fighting against the government and refuses to fight their own countrymen. But I suspect there is going to have to be at least one and perhaps many godawful bloody encounters before the average American is shocked enough to realize what is truly at stake.

If enough people would actually get out out of the shopping malls and turn off their televisions long enough to bother, it might change something, but there is a heck of a lot of apathy out there.
People need to stand up for their individual rights and a few of them are trying. Check out what happened to Ed and Elaine Brown. Watch "From Freedom to Fascism" or "The High Cost of Low Prices" for some ideas of how we are not as free as we would like to think.
One of my favorite bumper stickers says "If they take away Freedom of Speech, how will we know who the a**h***s are?"

No it is not. It can only be changed by educating the public about voting with there brains and not there feelings. Paying real close attention to the candidates. Don't believe everything they tell you or promise you. Common sense will tell you if what there puposing is do-able or not.
