There are various ways to test what you read.
First, take EVERYTHING you read with doubts. Treat it as though you need to verify it. If you found the article by searching, keep searching for other articles on the same topic until you see a few different opinions.
Second, consider WHERE you read the article. If it is a .COM site that is selling something, they might stretch the truth in favor of their product. If it is a .ORG site, they often have an agenda, a hidden intent. If it is a .EDU site, there is a chance it will be a scholarly article - but no guarantee that it is not an opinion or an unreviewed article.
Third, if it is a NEWS site (.org, .com, .anything) then take what it says as biased. I have never yet found a news site that did not put SOME spin on what they reported. Every news site pushes the agenda of the news organization's owner or managing editor.
In short, what you read on the internet in a single article is only very slightly higher in quality than what you read on public bathroom walls, as far as truth goes. Only when you have tried several different articles can you begin to trust what you read.

You can't be secured - but maybe assured. You should definitely believe everything anyone writes on the internet because they wouldn't write if it it wasn't true, right? Nobody can post just anything they want - there is a governing body of truth testers that preview everything that gets posted & if it isnt' true, they correct it or don't let it go. Uh-oh, I think I hear someone comming - bye... and keep believing everything you read and hear.

You can not even believe everything you read in a book. You can not even believe you are awake. You can not even believe I exist.
You just have to use your head and assess the risk in believing certain things. Nothing is for sure.
If I was looking for a guide on cooking some awesome chicken, I might believe the internet. If I was going to find out what kind of sickness I had, I might consult a doctor instead.
