I don't know about scary, it was sad. I think I saw her about 3 months later, some kids were walking her. She looked so happy I didn't say anything.

yes I have lost threeof my dogs. and yes it is the scariest thing cause you dont know where they are and if they are with a good home or not or if they may have died. And it also hurts.... alot. Someone stole my puppy last year and it hurt so much and it still does.

Yes - but the good news is that dogs have a greater chance of making their way home than do cats or other pets. Make sure you're checking the local shelters to see if he was turned in there. Also put up pictures and posters describing him near bus stops, in local stores or anywhere people gather who might have seen a dog.

Hugs and luck to you.

I haven't had a dog in years but we used to have some. We had one where you would open up its fence door outside and it would take off running ( stupid dog!) So my brothers had to chase it down the street and into the woods several times. Finally we just go rid of it and took it in the woods where this dog house was and it never looked back as it was running.. :'(. But yea I was afraid they would never find it if got loose.

Yes, it is a terrible feeling and made me so sad. My dogs came back on their own thankfully. I live in a small town, but they still could have been hit by a car. I am sorry if you have lost your dog, hope she/he makes it back to you.

my dog escaped out of the back yard once and we had to drive around the neighbor hood to find him. I was soo scared for him. I knew that someone would find him and they'd be able to call me because he had his tags on the collar but i couldn't help thinking 'what if someone kept him cuz he's soo damn cute and exensive kind of dog?!' eventually, as i was driving, i saw something white cross the street and run towards this couple that had seemed to have been calling him and they picked him up and looked at his tags n that's when i stopped my car (in the middle of the street in the dark) and screamed his name and he looked at me and jumped out of their arms and came running to me. I thanked the couple after almost crying cuz i was soo happy to have him back and took off! LOL...

This little dog ended up coming in my yard on Thanksgiving, so I called the cops and they wanted me to take it to the pound and I told them no. About 3 hours later this dude called and it was his dog. He was so happy, he gave me 50 bucks. It was so sweet. I helped a person and got money. It was the best Thanksgiving EVER!

Yes, my dog staggered home about 2 days after gone missing and looked like she lost a fight with another animal (dog). She died that night.

Yes, once, and it was just a horrible, horrible two hours til we found him again. Right away I got all my pets the microchip to give better odds of their return if it ever happened again, but it has not in 4 years b/c of increased care (paranoia) on all our parts.
