On the third attempt to track the checks the DHL CSR told me that the checks were lost and that i should notify my bank. Within two weeks I received notices from 6 different stores on purchases that i didnt make. The people are writing hot checks on me! I was told twice by a DHL CSR that my checks had been retrived from the address that they had delivered them to-but if they had retrived the checks from the address how are the people writing hot checks! They never retrived the checks from that address!

You could try pursuing a claim in Small Claims Court, but and easier method that will likely produce the same results would be the following with less time, effort and headaches on your part:

You should first contact your bank and have them close out your account so no further fraudulent claims can be made against your account and then open an new account, then fill out a fraud affidavit on the checks that have been written that you did not sign. If the cannot find the party, they may go after DHL, but it will be on their dime and their expense, not yours to pursue the matter in Court.

The bank and should reverse the fraudlent charges and any fees will investigate the person(s) fraudulently and prosecute them using your checks (you could also file a police report).

File a claim with DHL for the cost of shipping and the check printing costs.

Well, you probably need to have the check re-printed and sent again overnight. Tell DHL that they should bear the costs and see if they agree to, especially in writing. Demand at least an email. That's about the best you can do. You could sue, but you'd probably, at the most, get your out of pocket costs.

A damage suit against DHL will prosper in court if there was error in the delivery of a package.

you should finish your question. yeah DHL sucks my computer parts ended up shipping to the wrong address. yes you can certainly sue them especially considering those are checks and someone can use them to make payments/purchases which they will also be held for.
