What I usually do is, what feels right in my gutt. It's not always easy to distinguish what feels right, but just close your eyes, and visualize. What makes you feel more comfortable, more happy, less nervous, less scared...
Also, sometimes, it doesn't matter what you choose. What matters is making your choice work. And you can make any choice work if you work at it. So maybe that can help you relax a bit. Know that whatever you decide, will be the best choice, because you're going to make it work for you.
Good luck, with whatever you need to do!

There are two factors involved: The rational and the emotional. In some cases the rational is the best while in others the emotional, which however is a lot riskier.
We always do that which we feel is best at the moment.
While not knowing the decision involved it is a good idea to do what previous respondents have suggested. It is known as the Ben Franklin method as he is the one that devised it. Make a side by side list of the pros and cons. Rank them and rate them next. That may provide you with a "rational" answer, which may or may not be the best.

Write lists.
Weigh up the pros and cons for each of the choices you have in this decision!
Make sure you get some sleep before making this decision, as it is always easier if you have had some rest!
I hope this helps!

The answer normally sticks out to me as being "the right way". Yet, if I still cannot see a right answer, I think of the pros and cons to which the situation might end up at. After I've thought out my list, I then decide which one would benefit me the most. It's that simple. Don't complicate or make the situation difficult for yourself. Just relax and do what's right.

If you have a big decision to make I would write down the pros and cons of the decision so that you have something to focus on. And I always pray about decisions.

basically 2 days into the week !! in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, my "vast decision" - - the former day had to settle on whether or to no longer force the 25 miles into city, or wait till Friday. a chum had "borrowed" 2 of my chainsaws and destroyed the chains... so I went into city and offered new chains.

ok, well you can go one of two routes
1. what do you think about it? what do you want? is it going to benifit you in any way? think about it as if which one do you want?..
or
2. what is going to be more accepted by society? will your parents agree with your decision? from another persons POV like a mentor would that approve of your chioce?
you can go with what you want, or what society would want...good luck though
