The Krebs cycle does two things that affect the breathing rate. The faster the Krebs cycle goes, the faster you breathe because:
1. The Krebs cycle produces carbon dioxide that your breathing has to get rid of.
2. The Krebs cycle passes electrons along to the electron transport chain which requires oxygen that is supplied by your breathing.
