It's purposefully disappearing. There is a ruling class in this country and a peasent...almost surf class. It's only a matter of time. No elected official supports the constitution...they just like to line their pockets....IRS and Federal Reserve are the key agencies...

Oh give me a break.. there is plenty of middle class left. Most people in this country work for a living, own a home, send their kids to public school and own a car or two. They are not on welfare, food stamps or any public assistance program.. in fact its the middle class that pays for the poor more time than most. There will always be 10% rich.. 10% poor and the other 80% middle class.. there is upper and lower middle class but its still there and it ain't going away!

Depends on what you call "middle class". The days of a mere hs diploma and doing well with a mfg job is dimihshing. With globilization, labor intensive mfg will continue to move offshore.
The key is how do we continue to educate the kids today for the more demanding jobs of tomorrow? Change is already here so we must adapt to it.

its going nowhere. always been there, always will. america affords each of us the chance to make our lives into what we want them to be. our choices and actions determine where we are and will be in the future. are times hard for some? sure. but there are just as many people who are doing very well in their lives too. we aren't entitled to an easy life, nor is it our right. if you were born into a poverty-ridden home, that's too bad, but that doesn't prevent you from being better off. neither bush nor the demos in congress can do anything to stop anyone from achieving what they want in life. sadly, too many people are lazy and full of self-pity and they blame their misery on everyone but the person in the mirror.

The Republicans have punished the middle class in favor of the rich in this decade. They are going to turn Democrat. That's the only way they will get a break.

There are no Classes in the US.
Anyone can do anything if they make the right life choices.
The government should treat us all the same under the law.
Currently the government punishes those who do well for themselves and rewards failure.

I strongly believe it doesn't matter cuzz China is going to take this place over before it really truly matters. Remember they said to us when we "directed" them not to point missle at Tawain.... "You value LA more than you value Tawain, don't you?" Just think about it....
I say the middle class has a decade at best.

If Democrats worm their way in and take over, they will finish off the middle class.
