your best bet is to take it to a small name service shop. geek squad type places suck. but most likely 1 or more parts got fried.

Sorry, your unit is fried!
Even with a surge protector, you should turn the computer and protector off if you hear thunder, unplug it for even more protection.
It is called a SURGE protector, for protection against normal power surges.
It is not a Lightening protecter.
Lightening carries 10's of thousands of volts, not hundreds, it is DC voltage and can jump for miles from the sky to the ground.
What makes people think it can't jump the micro-fraction of an inch that a surge protector allows for on an AC unit?

There's probably something wrong with the jacks the cables are in. Take it to a professional computer repairman or just buy a new one.... If you still need a monitor and a tower the computer is sadly outdated anyway and probably not worth the cost of repairs, but that's your choice.

Surge protectors are good to a certain voltage and even they deteriorate after a few hits. I say your up for a new monitor, it could be a media card ( prey hard). But get you whole PC checked out power wise as well as the monitor, and get a new surge protector.

3 beeping signals usually means bad RAM. you can try to open and see if your RAM chips are installed correctly.
maybe they got fried during the thunderstorms, which is bad. but RAM is pretty cheap nowadays. just visit your motherboards manufacturers webste to find what kinda of RAM your motherboard supports

I suspect that the RAM chips have problem. Open your computer, then take out the RAM chips and reinsert them, and see if it works
