Dead. Also, the tribal leaders have been bribed by Bush to behave for the moment.

The Iraqi Dinar is virtually worthless, imagine Bush offering millions in US to a tribal leader.

The same thing happened in Nam.
The guerrillas (insurgents) went into hiding when the situation got tough and when the situation lightened up they came back out. It's not that they are chicken, it's that they know if they go head to head against the USA fighting machine, they will lose every time.

Guerrilla warfare is not meant to win the war with decisive means, like we do with shock and awe, it is meant to divide the people by putting fear into them that the unknown enemy (insurgents) is killing because of the result of the ones who are trying to defeat them with modern means (the USA). The people, therefore, have no one to really point too, except the ones wearing the uniforms as the cause of all the madness.

Therefore, when the USA lightens up, the insurgency will be back and maybe even worse then it was before.

Vietnam proved it.

Too bad we don't learn from our lessons.

I wish armchair warriors and politicians would realize that. I think the Generals do, but they must do the bidding of their superior. The Generals who are retired seem to be increasingly vocal of the failure of Bush and Bush-co.

Peace
