The moon reminds me of the "personality of an individual" in which it has a dark side and a good side....in which sometimes are being hidden by his/her troubles and happiness in life!.....

This is good for a poem "When the night falls the moon shall rise", "The moon is like cheese", "The full moon will call the spirit form beyond" and "Together the earth and moon will join forces as friends" i think it's pretty good but like halloween kind of thing.

The moon is nearly full, and my husband (who is an artist) pointed it out to me yesterday while it was still light out ... all he said was 'Look, the moon is almost full.' It was a 'romantic moment' the two of us shared, on the bus, in front of everyone else ... because WE saw the moon, and they didn't ... and that may be something you can use in your poem about the moon ... how it 'separates' the 'romantic' from the 'mundane' in life ...

By your question I'm reminded of some lyrics in a Bob Segar song - "...and the moon comes calling a ghostly white."

hmmm poetic moon comparisons..................
silver
cold nights
a light to guide people during the night (not to be confused with the north star)
so bright, it washes out the twinkle of other stars
the earth's partner
slammed into earth just minding its own business, but now since they've met they CANNOT and don't want to separate
(BUT the moon is moving away about 1 inch a year

Moody Blues said it best:
"Cold hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colours from our sight
Red is gray and yellow, white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion"

It reminds me the earrings I want to give my sweetie... but I haven't found my sweetie yet... Look at it as a metaphor of things to come, when we wish the future was past...
wow!
