It depends upon the State and Bank that it's written on. Most checks are good for 30 days to six months. If it's a Certified Check, etc. it would have the date printed on the face of the check.

Six months, unless it has a shorter time printed on its face. Sometimes checks are only good for 60 or 90 days. If they don't say anything on them, it's 6 months.

Checks are good for up to six months after that they are considered stale dated and need to be reissued
