i have one computer in my living roomwith a wireless router hooked up to it and in my basement I have another computer that has been used apporximately 1 year ago and has had internet on it...my cousins gave it to me. the wireless router works on this computer but when i try to add the computer in the basement it doesnt work...how do i do it?

Well, not all computers have wireless cards! Most desktops do not!
If the computer in the basement has a wireless card it MAY be able to connect to a router located upstairs all depends on the signal level! Usually different floors may cause loss of signal . If you can run a wire between the router and the basement you will get a better connection. So if it were me, I would run a cable from the basement to the router and know a connection would work.

actually definite.....you are able to connect with as many community as obtainable round you as long as you fulfill 2 situations: a million. that you connect with anybody community at any given time and a pair of. you've the proper protection key or the community key

Does it have a wireless adapter hooked up to it? PCMCIA card? or USB wireless adapter?

Network magic will help. Until you figure it out. Install on both computers. It you work out the problem you should be able to uninstall after you get it to work.
