I raise redfoot tortoises and they sometimes hatch out with part of the yolk still attached to the bottom shell. You may see this as well. It's normal and will absorb into the body in a few days. Baby tortoises don't tend to eat right away, it can take a week or so, don't panic. I would recommend giving them a soak in a little tepid water everyday once the external yolk has been absorbed. Chop their food fine and mix it well.

isse alive? let the baby hatch out, if he's got a bit of yolk left, place him in a plastic dish or a deli cup, moist paper towel on the bottom of it so the yolk doesnt dry up and stick; i lost a baby this way; i forgot to moisten the paper towel and he died. :(

After a week, the yolk should be absorbed then you should offer his first meal, dandelion is a good start.

if the turtle is not having trouble ,i agree leave it alone however if it looks like it's having a hard time it wo'nt hurt to help it out just be careful, the shell is very soft to begin with. hope this helps.

Just leave it alone. It should be fine by itself
