Sending email through the Y!A boards does not give the other person your email address, so it is safe in the regard. Obviously if you provide more information to that person then you may be openning yourself up to something undesirable.
Of course that goes for most of the net. So yeah, you CAN make friends here, just like anywhere else, but be sure you know what you're doing when you start handing out personal information.

I've not had any problems, and i have made some wonderful friends here. After I get to know someone a little, We just swap yahoo e-mail addresses. I have also added those to my 360 list and we stay connected there as well. As much as I get disgusted here on Answers at the crap they pull, I have made some wonderful friendships here.

yes i have two contacts on yahoo that i e-mail all the time! if you want you can e-mail me.some people dont take e-mails,but i do. look into my profile .i am just a friendly gal! yeah i know,my avitar is a guy but i liked his looks so hes my avitrar.

Yes it is very safe because you don't have to give them your actual email address. So give it a try I hope you find a really cool internet buddy!

yes, definitely! I've done it before, and the person I got in contact with really helped me out with some issues I had! Sure, you can't always assume it's going to work out. But it's worth a try, at least! :-)

i supose its okay, just be VERY VERY careful, anyone you tlak to could be a 40 year old child molester waiting to get you. but don't worry, i'm not one lol. in fact i really ONLY email ppl from skool...but like yea i acutally had that expeiriecce, i had this friend online and he eventually confessed to me that he was almost 50 with two kids and a wife. i dont talk to him anymore, but he was a nice guy and not a child molester...i think...but im not talking to him just in case lol...so feel free to email me.

yes it is safe...you can only email the ones that allow it. I now have a few email friends.
