If you have a legitimate work permit, then there are many options. Grocery Bagger, for instance, is usually a well-traversed route. Stocking is another option in a Grocery or Retail environment. Restaurant Dishwasher is another. I wouldn't recommend applying for a Busser unless you happen to be an exceptional people-person. No restaurant I know would ever hire you as a Server, though, and the best busser's I've worked with under the age of 18 tend to be females with Performing Arts or Athletic backgrounds (high-school age Gymnasts or Actresses have consistently performed well for me, in my experience as a Server) Sign-waving is another option, if you don't mind working outside while in constant motion. I hear its decent money. You cannot work a cash register alone under the age of 18, but there may be some retail establishments willing to work with you as a retail clerk. You also cannot serve alcohol in a restaurant. There are a lot of limitations you will be facing while you are still a minor, but if you look hard, you will find something to do. Whether or not it's a worthwhile experience is up to you to decide.

It depends on the state you live in. I know in California you can get a job at 15 with a work permit. Try a busgirl, Pizza type restaurant or any fast food. The draw back in California at 15 you have restricted hours you can work.

To tell you the truth, not a lot of places will because they want you to be at least 16. But your best shot is at fast food places like McDonalds. Sure it's not the best job but it's a start and it gives you experience for your resume for later years.

Check with your state laws; you may have to ask someone from your state that's a little older... In NC, I had to get a work permit in order for ANYWHERE to hire me. If your state requires it, make sure you get one and go to a type of business that you want to work for. Shoot for the stars and don't settle for any less.
