If they are the halogen bulbs that have two pins sticking out of the base no turning is involved. You can loop some strong cord (like fishing line around the base and pull the bulb straight out. When you look at the socket you can see how to line up the new bulb (grippers touch flat sides of base). Then just push straight in so the pind will seat in the base

Try pushing it in with thumb pressure it might pop right out . If that doesn't work, try twisting it out by putting some wadded-up duct tape (sticky side out )on the exposed part of the bulb and turn it counter clock wise. Remember you need to apply slight pressure while you're turning it . Good luck

Is this a compact fluorescent lamp? If so grasp the plastic base of the lamp and pull firmly. They can be difficult to get out.

your local lighting center sell a small suction cup tool that fits on the front of the bulb, and simply turns to unscrew and screw int the new one.
