For the sake of arguing - why would people rather trust a woman's instinct than a man's reason?

Both men and women are given the same instincts, specifically for that of survival. Any other decision should be fact based. Therefore, men should not need to trust a woman's instinct, as they are equipped with their own. As for logic, this is a learned behavior and is not gender dependent.

Because between the two genders the female is superior by far. Don't misconstrue that, I'm not saying the women are better than men per se, but the matriarchal wisdom is usually greater than that of the men in everyday living.
Remember in Genesis when God looked down on Adam and said he needed a "helpmate"? Now you know what kind of help Adam needed. To this day we boys still need the women's help.

a womans instinct would be a nature given thing, part of her mind, body and spirit, and people tend to trust mother nature, plus they trust mother types (aka women)
whereas a mans reason comes more from within hisself, and men are considered not to be in tune with their total selves as much as women are

Men and women both have reason and instinct and both are important. Intelligent people are developed in both areas, both men and women.

people ignore the dictates of their reason for they attribute their life to some supernatural powers. we must remember that we are given reason/ possess reason.. so we must use it.
