Only to find that it is a mass email of some sort?? I know the intentions are good, but I don't like them...

Neither do I. I read them and sometimes laugh but I do not participate.They are just not my thing. To each their own.

Hmmmm... Sometimes... It depends. If the email is notifying me of a violation, or God forbid, a suspension, then yes, I do NOT like them.
If it is telling me of a best answer I was awarded, then I actually find them quite charming.

Yep, I hate it too. But such is life. I do like the jokes as long as they are not repeated often.
